Six nights aboard M/Y Hanse Explorer through the fjords, islands and tidewater glaciers of Southeast Alaska.
This is a private charter of M/Y Hanse Explorer through the northern Inside Passage, from Juneau out to the Inian Islands and back through Frederick Sound over six nights in August. It is a route built around what August does to this coast: the salmon are running, the brown bears are on the streams, and the humpbacks are grouped up and bubble-net feeding in the straits. Twelve guests, one yacht, and an itinerary that stays flexible enough to sit with a pod of whales or hold at a calving face for as long as the moment lasts. EYOS's shoreside team has run this coast for decades, and a private yacht reaches the smaller fjords and inlets that larger ships cannot. M/Y Hanse Explorer is a purpose-built expedition yacht, 47.76 metres, made to work high-latitude coasts like this one. She carries twelve guests across seven en-suite cabins with a crew of fifteen and a dedicated expedition team, so the ratio aboard is heavily in the guests' favour. On deck she launches Zodiac tenders and inflatable kayaks and runs a full dive operation, which is what lets the charter reach the narrow inlets, the ice-choked fjords and the quiet anchorages that the itinerary is built around.
